How to think yourself healthy

Red Orbit - 25 September 2008

Leading gastroenterologists are calling for hypnotherapy to be used more widely in treating irritable bowel syndrome.

Images such as a fast-flowing river in the gut slowing down and soothing the bowel may be able to significantly improve IBS symptoms, say researchers.

In one study, 12 weeks of hypnotherapy helped 71% of patients ease their IBS symptoms for five years after the treatment.

Hypnotherapy is a very effective treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  Hypnotherapists at The Harley Street Hypnotherapy Clinic in London provide clients with hypnosis visualisation techniques that enable them to slow down the processes in the gut to an 'imagined' speed needed for symptoms to cease.
